I found Robert listed as a Passenger on the Ship Main that arrived in New York from Bremen, Germany on June 9, 1882. He was traveling with his Grandparents, Wilhelm and Karolina Keyser. He did give other dates when he applied for citzenship in lat er life.
Robert Applied twice for Citizenship, The first time on September 22, 1909 at age 46 in that application he stated he was born in Schwarzburg, Germany, and he Emigrated from Sarnia Canada, on the Grand Trunk Railroad, and his last foreign residen ce was Schwarzburg, Germany. He arrived ot the port of Port Huron, in the State of Michigan on the 15 of May 1879 [the copy says 1869].
Robert Applied again on May 29-1919, a year before he died, explaining why he never completed being a Citizen . On this application he stated he was born in Sondershausen, Schwarzburg, Germany and he Emigrated to the United States from Liverpool, and did not know the name of the ship, his last foreign residence was Sondershausen, Germany, He arrived at the Port of New York City on about June 15, 1879.
Research Notes: Maybe the addition " Father: Johannes Wehling from Teistungen" in the 1872 Baptismal record of Wilhelm Günther Otto Wehling is a hint for the conclusion that the Wehling - Keyser family moved back to Teistungen before they emigrated. On the other hand is is a fact that Robert Gustav August Wehling was a Journeyman Carpenter in Hohenebra when he left Germany with his Grandfather the Carpenter Wilhelm Heinrich August Keyser and his Grandmother Carolina in 1882. This might indicate that the parents were not living too far away from Hohenebra. It seems possible that further information about the families of Auguste Wilhelmina Maria Keyser`s siblings would include hints for the residence of the Wehling-Keyser family after 1872.
The Burial records were checked between 1861 and 1872 and no more Burials of a Wehling were found other than the twins in 1861. I checked the Marriage Registers as well for 1878 - 1901 and found only the record of Wilhelm Eduard Ottomar Keyser and Johanne Maria Friederike, nee Rink an family that are cousins of the Keyser family.
