3. Johann Henricus Wehling-[25587] (Andreas 1) was born in 1683 in Kreuzebra, (Creuzebranus) Germany, died in 1742 in Wingerode, Germany and was buried on 9 Nov 1742 in Wingerode, Germany.
Research Notes: Henricus Adam Wehling appears as a witness for Johann. Henricus Wehling so it appears that Henricus may not have lived in Kreuzebra for a long time, but checking further records in the early Kreuzebra marriage records from 1665 to 1731 that shows no less than seven Wehling brides. We will have to assume there is yet another Wehling stronghold in Kreuzebra 7 kilometers south of Wingerode and we will have to research the Wehling families to find more in the future.
Both Priest Dr. Marx and Mrs. Rogge thought that there were a number of gaps in the earlier Wingerode Parish Registers, but this is not true. The oldest Wingerode Parish Register including Baptisms 1701 - 1810, Marriages 1701 - 1807 and burials 1701 - 1811 is in fact very complete for the post - 1721 years. Even more confusing is that the second parish register book (1722-1772/73) starts with the year 1722 and has the title "Altestes Kirchenbuch Wingerode" . It seems as if no post-1721 entry which can be found in the 1701 -1807/11 parish register is recorded in the 1722-1772/73 and post 1773 parish registers and the same families appear in the 1701-1807/11 parish register after 1721 again and again. There were two different parish registers recorded between 1722 and 1811. But why? There were two different districts covered by the two different parish registers. Either it was the two parts of Wingerode ( The first and much bigger part of the village was dependent to the Beuren Convent before 1810 while a smaller part was part of the Amt "Scharfenstein" ) or - much more probable - it was Wingerode on one side and the District of Beuren Convent in Beuren on the other side. This small Beuren Convent District ( not only the nuns, but as well some secular inhabitants lived in this district) did not belong to the Beuren Parish and from 1650 to 1810 it was the Beuren convent priest (Klosterpropst) who was the Wingerode Priest. In June 1810 The Beuren Convent was closed. From this background the following interpretation should be the right one. The 1722 - 1772/73 was labeled with " Altestes Kirchenbuch Wingerode" because it WAS the oldest Parish Register recorded IN Wingerode and for Wingerode only. Before 1722 it was a Beuren Parish Register, recorded in Beuren for the Convent District and the Convents village Wingerode. Was there a Beuren Parish Register which included Wingerode entries before 1701? Probably yes! From about 1650/53 on, Johann Adam Dölle was the first Beuren Klosterpropst who was as well the Wingerode Priest, but from 1550 to 1650 the Beuren Parish ( which was not any longer responsible for the Beuren Convent District after 1650/53) and the Wingerode Parish were connected to one Parish under the Beuren Priest and Dean (Dekan). If we know that the Beuren St. Pancratius Parish has Parish Registers which reach back to 1606 we should conclude that there is realistic hope for Wingerode Parish Registers ( within the Beuren ones) for 1606-1650, possibly as well for 1650- 1700
